Indoor Winter Astronomy Ideas

Unread post by Stargrrl »

The attached presentation provides links to a variety of "indoor astronomy" options to get you through the winter months, including:

* Free online astronomy courses through Coursera.org - both intro/beginner and advanced
* Citizen science projects that you can work on -- help map Mars, find exoplanets, identify variable stars, look for asteroids, etc.
* Access public raw imaging data to create your own astronomy images (or to teach yourself processing)
* Use NASA public telescopes or view the sky online through Slooh

I hope you find these ideas useful for those nights when it's too icy/snowy/freezing cold to go outside!
