Thanks, Dan! It is almost like I was there! You should post the "Stellafane 2009" photo to their photo gallery...at the Stellafane Website! They ask for photos every year...mine were posted last year.

Hi Dan,

I was wondering what you were up to as you lurked around the "Cosmic Latrine". :D Now I see.

I especially like the middle image. M17 is clearly identifiable in this huge swath of the Milky Way. ( If that is not M17, just shut up, ok?)

Nice tight stars. The Sirius Mount is serving you well.

Dan, those are great shots. I love the M24 shot, but my wife thinks the Stellafane 2009 shot is the best. She looked at it, studied it, and said 'How the heck does he do that?' I'll bet the Stellafane folks would have that as the cover shot on their collection of photos from the year.

Yes, Tom, it is the Swan. But also, M16 and possibly a very faint NGC 6537, as well as several NGC open clusters. And it is just possible that, up in the right corner, just under a small triangle of stars, one of those many dots may be Pluto!

Way cool Dan, and BYW youare becoming quite skilled at 'Air Writing'!

I really like the dense star field you captured. Any pictures of a munchkin running into your camera tripod?

Gee, This is driving me nuts!! All Dan's beautiful (I'm SURE!) work, but I can't see images on my work computer and I haven't been home long enough to check them out. I'm glad the discriptions are detailed. I can imagine what they look like!

Dan,
These are beautiful, if I had to pick one as my favorite.
(a) Stellafane 2009 8)
(b) M24, M16, NGC 6537 etc. etc. etc. 8)
(c) Double cluster 8)

I'd pick...
(d) All of the above 8) 8) 8)

Nice images. 8) 8) 8)

I finally got to see these, Dan! Very skillfull and a fine take-back-home souvenir!!! It's tough enough to write Stellafane backwards on paper, never mind in the air! Next time try adding ASSNE attendees names.

I'm inspired to make the trek up there next year. I did just buy a tent! :D

Bill you would be most welcome at Stellafane next year!

Speaking of attendees, did we get a final head count of ASSNE participants?
