home grown viewing chair

Postby scope potato » Fri Feb 19, 2010 10:23 pm

 should anyone want to build their own observer's chair I have drawings of what has been called the denver chair. All that's involved is a nice and straight piece of 2x4 a 4inch door hinge, some scrap plywood, and a few other items. For tools you could get away with a drill and a hand saw . The end result is a nice adjustable foldable viewing chair that won't cost the price of a nice eyepiece Jerry

Mark,i'll do that after seeing what those thieves get for those rediculous chairs I decided to make my own and I have seen some real craftsmanship in the "home grown versions". Mark btw are you some kind of astro dealer??? If you are, besides s sugestion on an upgrade for my focuser, what would you suggest in an EQ mount?? I've been looking at the orion astroview and the celestron omni mount mind you this is just for a 114mm reflector Thank you in advance Cheers Jerry

  Mark, I have seen Trigg's design. That was very clever and the price of the materials was real cheap, and talk about sturdy, wow.He took advantage of being at the right place at the right time. But to be honest, picturing making a cnair out of fiberglass handles in my opinion is quite unique. Jerry
